If there is ever such a thing. My husband came to Michigan on Monday to get me and take me back home. We left yesterday and got in around 2:30 am.
Dad has been home now for one week and is really doing well. Though he is still weak and tires easily. He says he's being lazy, but I just keep reminding him that he just needs to get his strength up.
My dad got his staples out of his skin grafts on Wednesday and he says he can walk around better because there is no longer any pulling from the staples. He doesn't do well sitting around and doing nothing. He decided to get up and spray his rose bushes. So, he did. He walks slowly, but I believe he will be back to his normal self within a couple more weeks. Like he said, he will never look at life the same again. We all know how difficulties seem to put your life in perspective.
Leaving him yesterday was a very difficult thing for me to do. I just wanted to stay until I knew he was 100% back to health, but having a family and living 500 miles away makes all of that difficult. If you think about it please whisper a prayer for him. I'm sure it's going to be quiet for him without anyone there. If you think about it, have time, or just feel urged by the Lord, a little note of encouragement would mean a lot to him. I can give you his address if you would like. Just email me @ mykdsmama@aol.com .

Dear Amanda,
Thanks for your kind note over at my blog. I'm am so sorry to read of your dad's accident but rejoice with you that he is doing so well.
My husband's parents live in the Quad City, IL area and we spent 5 weeks with them this summer. We traveled through Iowa some too.
My husband's sister lives in Des Moines.
I am glad to "meet" other homeschooling moms! I am taking the plunge this year, with excitement and fear.
Thanks again for leaving a note so I could visit you blog too.
Amy
