My Dearest Dad

I don't know if ya'll know by now, but I am in Michigan. My dad had a very bad accident with a garden tiller. Well, the tiller almost won and he almost lost his life. But God decided to spare his life and we are very greatful to Him for that.

Here is the story if you don't know about it yet. On Monday my dad was tilling around his plants in the garden and his tire needed aired up. So he "walked" the tiller up to the garage and then put it in reverse to get it where he needed it. Well, the tiller got stuck in reverse and there were no safety switches on this older model. Well, to make a long story a little shorter, before he knew it, he was backed in a corner against the garage and panicking, he lifted the handles, which then allowed the tines to back into him. The tiller then began to 'walk' up his leg and finally stalled as it was lodged in his thigh. This severed his main vain and artery. When the rescue team got there they took the jaws of life to cut his tiller into about 8 pieces.

Like I said, the Lord decided to spare his life. Thank you all for your prayers! He seems to be moving in the right direction towards recovery though it will be a long while yet. They thought he may loose his leg, then when he didn't, they thought he was not ever going to be able to use it because of the severe damage to the nerves. Well, he can wiggle his toes and move his knee just a little. Praise the Lord for His goodness. Until next time, please keep us in your prayers.
